2025 Convention

The 2025 PCRRHS Annual Convention will be held September 18-20 at the Holiday Inn Purdue - Fort Wayne in Fort Wayne, Indiana, located directly across from the Memorial Coliseum.

Room are $149 per night. Reservations can be made by calling the front desk at (260) 482-3800 and say you are booking a room in the Penn Central Railroad block. You can also reserve a room through the Holiday Inn web site starting in mid-June (reservations can’t be made more than 99 days in advance).

TOURS

Friday, September 19, 2025
• Former PRR/PC/Amtrak Baker St. depot (1:30– 2:30 PM)

Saturday, September 20, 2025 (bus trip)
• Indiana Northeastern Railroad diesel shop (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM)
• Chartered train ride from Pleasant Lake, IN to Reading, MI and return (11:30 AM – 2:30 PM)
• Waterloo, IN Amtrak depot (2:45 PM – 3:15 PM)

All tour attendees must be 16 years of age or older. By request of our tour hosts, all attendees must ride the Society’s tour bus for the out-of-town September 20 tours. Tour attendees can sign up to purchase a box lunch at the convention before Saturday.

LONG PANTS AND STURDY, CLOSED-TOED SHOES ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL TOURS. NO SANDALS OR OPEN-TOED SHOES WILL BE PERMITTED.

BANQUET

Saturday, September 20, 2025 (7:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
The convention banquet will be held at Hall’s Tavern at Coventry, 5745 Coventry Lane, Ft Wayne, IN 46804, near the I-69/US 24 exit.

Our first guest speaker will be Craig Berndt of the Northeast Indiana Railroad Historical Society. Craig is an historian of Allen County, Indiana’s, railroads, and will talk to us about the history of the PRR’s Baker Street station from its beginning in 1914 to the end of Amtrak service in 1990.

Our second guest speaker will be Kelly Lynch of the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, who will talk about his group and their railroad equipment restoration projects. FWRHS owns Nickel Plate Berkshire No. 765 and an impressive list of other equipment, and they will operate our special excursion train that afternoon.
