Annual Conventions

The PCRRHS holds an annual meeting and convention somewhere in the Penn Central's former service territory. Each convention features slide shows, tours, model displays, clincs, a flea market, and other events, not to mention an opportunity to see old friends and make new ones in the Society.

  • 2012 Convention

    The 2012 PCRRHS Convention is scheduled for September 20-22 at the Hilton Hotel in the Metropark Corporate Complex in Woodbridge, NJ. More details to come.

  • 2011 Convention

    The 2011 PCRRHS Annual Convention was held September 29 through October 1, 2011, in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.

  • 2010 Convention

    The 2010 PCRRHS convention was held in suburban Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tours included the Carrie Furnances in Rankin and Norfolk Southern's Conway Yard. Photos from the event can be seen here.

  • 2009 Convention

    The Penn Central Railroad Historical Society celebrated its tenth anniversary at its 2009 annual convention in Springfield, Massachusetts. Tours included the Smith & Wesson factory, the New England Central Railroad in Palmer, MA, and the Connecticut Trolley Museum in East Windsor, CT.

  • 2008 Convention

    The 2008 PCRRHS Convention was held on September 18-20 at the Radisson Lackwanna Station Hotel in Scranton, Pennsylvania. While Scranton was really a Lackawanna city, the Penn Central got close to Scranton, reaching nearby Wilkes-Barre.

  • 2007 Convention

    The 2007 convention of the Penn Central Railroad Historical Society was held at the Sleep Inn/Main Stay Suites hotel in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Friday afternoon featured a tour of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg.

  • 2006 Convention

    The 2006 PCRRHS convention was held on September 14-16, 2006, in Timonium, MD. While Baltimore is in the middle of former PRR electrified territory, this convention had a taste of the Baltimore & Ohio as well.
